Here are some of the pictures I have taken that I think are kewl. Not necessarily for the picture quality but for the content. They were taken either by my Ricoh RDC-1 or my Kodak DC280. The Ricoh was an early "professional" model but the quality of the new Kodak can't be equaled. There is also a section of pictures I think are just kewl that I have come across. There are a lot of thumbs that will load so be patient. Click on them all to see some fun pictures.

Animals

grasshopper.jpg (48086 bytes)spider1.jpg (63369 bytes)These are two of the first pictures I ever took with a digital camera. They were taken with the Ricoh. For some goofy reason I really like the grasshopper pic.

bella4.jpg (243386 bytes) This is Bella She is one of the first Parrotlets I raised. She was such a sweetheart and found a wonderful home. It too was taken with the Ricoh. It is one of the better pictures it took.

B&G baby2.jpg (155137 bytes) This is one of my favorite bird pictures. It is a 4 week old female Blue & Gold Macaw "Harley". When She was purchased her new family could not believe they paid this much for a "plucked chicken". She is now an adult and acts more like a dog and talks like crazy.

timneh2.jpg (122521 bytes) I was amazed at how clear this picture came out. It was with the Kodak. I just stuck the camera in the brooder on the close-up setting and snapped it. you can see the stuck on feeding formula on the birds beaks. :)

faB&G2.JPG (133972 bytes) Here is a beautiful weaned Blue & Gold baby. It's coloring is incredible and as of the posting of the picture it is available. You can go to my other site www.critterbreeders.com for more information about birds for sale.

ostrich chick.jpg (261282 bytes) These li'l guys take my heart away. This is a one day old ostrich chick. In about a year this bird will have become a mean, stupid, dangerous, 300 pound, great tasting beast. :)

goldie Hi.jpg (105037 bytes) This is a really cute bird. This is Goldie the day she was being picked up by her new mom. I held her out to snap this picture and she waved "bye". :) She was 10 weeks old at this time. She is now a super talking, sweetie . :)

timneh feeding.jpg (104475 bytes) This was a crack up. I was laughing too hard to take the picture. I stuck a "Paulie" doll on hte cage and this baby Timnea thought it was momma and tried to get it to feed 'em.

cag-tag6.jpg (259298 bytes) Here are a baby Timneh (R) and a Congo African Grey (L). They both fought over food that looked like a cheese puff. One reason I have this picture here is because the Timnah later passed away. It was really sad.

chicks1.jpg (93672 bytes) Like with other pictures this is not particularly good but the subject is. There are 4 Silky Chicken chicks owned by a friend Critterdude here. The smallest one that is mostly under the gold chick is the oldest of the group. It was dying. We cleared up it's runny poop with some Pepto Bismal and force fed it. The li'l guy made it and turned into a beautiful crowing rooster.

bird7.jpg (170876 bytes) Now for one of the most photogenic and playful bird types I have ever seen. It is a Black Headed Caique. (Pronounced K-eye-eek) This is a breeder bird that is still wonderfully tame and playful. It is at Birds-A-Plenty.

possum4.jpg (211977 bytes)possum3.jpg (553310 bytes)possum5.jpg (472282 bytes)
This little guy cracked me up. On Christmas he ended up coming up to our window right after dinner. He stayed for about an hour. We suspect he could smell the turkey we had left out in the cold in the enclosed porch.

People & Places

belly dancer3.jpg (100701 bytes)belly dancer2.jpg (80290 bytes)belly dancer1.jpg (197398 bytes)

Here are pictures of a belly dancer that was dancing in the hot sun during an art fest.  She was having a blast. It was fun trying to get a decent picture of her. I was just learning the Kodak camera.

winter4.jpg (108111 bytes) We had a good snow and I was trying to get pictures of an old barn you could see from the highway. It was behind this house so I could not get to it. I decided to snap this picture. It had a bunch of power cables across it and this was one of the first times I used Adobe Photoshop to edit pictures. I really wish I had used the better camera and gotten a higher resolution.

tigger clancy.jpg (227942 bytes) This is not quite an animal or person picture. It is 4 yo Clancy in front of his ostrich Tigger. Clancy is holding an ostrich egg laid by one of Tigger's hens. That egg is now a 230 pound adolescent bird 10 months later.

needle1.jpg (81334 bytes)I took this picture from a speeding van. I screwed up the lens setting and got this circle around the picture. This was my first trip to Seattle. I wanted to take a picture of the needle before I left. I had arrived there a week before. 15 minutes after I landed Seattle had their huge 6.8 earthquake. That was a great reception.

tat1.jpg (46717 bytes) This is a sort of personal picture that I have redone a tiny bit. It is a picture of the one tattoo I have. I had the picture working in my brain two years before I scribbled the idea for a tattoo artist in Bonsal CA. In order to get a flat, round picture I didn't use a camera. I actually pressed a scanner to my leg and scanned the sucker. I am really glad no one was around to watch me do this over and over until I got a pic I liked. :)

car hauler.jpg (278848 bytes) I went to a car show and this hot rod car hauler caught my eye. It was not something you see very often. The picture is ok but the truck was way kewl.

open car.jpg (324050 bytes) This is another picture from that car show. This custom car was totally wild but I was not the only person taking pictures from this angle. This is when I realized I needed a zoom lens. We were all trying to get pictures of the woman in the bikini and inflated ego... Ok it wasn't her ego that was inflated. hahaha

4.jpg (134166 bytes)After a shower I looked out the window and saw this really interesting sight. A rainbow ran across the sky and ended up landing on the top of this church. It was one of those times I felt I needed to capture. No, I have not shown the picture to the people of the church. :) Maybe one day.

village.jpg (360705 bytes) Here is that art fair again. I have no idea why I like this picture. I didn't pay much attention when I snapped the pic. One thing I considered doing was use it as a lesson for Photoshop. I thought about removing the police car from the picture and filling it in like it was never there. I guess I have not gotten bored enough to attempt it.

village2.jpg (345100 bytes) This is another picture from that art fair. Initially I took it because I liked the look of the trike. When I saw it after downloading it three other things caught my eye. One was the house on the right. With that exterior design I wondered what the rooms looked like. It is a very interesting exterior. The second thing I wondered was what the heck that woman on the left was doing with her kid. She looks guilty. The third thing was just affirmation of my decision to never wear sandals... ever!

Others Pix

Great Smile1.jpg (150268 bytes) I LOVE this picture! I don't remember where I found it. I just had to save it. This guy is a crack-up! Look at those eyes.

handsfree500.jpg (81737 bytes) Here is another funny picture that has been going around. The first time I saw it I was reading a very interesting and serious email about the need for a hands free cell phone adapter. After a resounding explanation of its benefits and properties it had a link to see the product. I don't laugh out loud when I am online often but this was one of those times.

earthlights_dmsp_big.jpg (395595 bytes) This is a HUGE picture that should be in every classroom in the US. It is a compilation of hundreds of pictures from satellites that are in orbit around the world. It was a NASA project. You can see the lights of every city in the world and also see where industrialization has not hit yet.

gerber.jpg (64736 bytes) A good friend Bill Mcleod sent me this one. Again I laughed at my computer desk. Bills site is a fun place to check out. That baby picture is just too funny!
